Laboratory for Ultrastructural Neuropathology (LUN)
5. Equipment
- The laboratory is fully equiped for conventional electron microscopy of biological specimens.
- The laboratory is running daily a CM10 Philips electron microscope (FEI).
- The LUN is managing a large collection of biopsy and postmortem specimens with the corresponding histopathological results and diagnosis from (actually) 6.000 patients with a neurological disorder. Tissues are stocked as resin embedded blocks, semithin sections and grids with ultrafine sections. This collection is integrated in the IBB-BIOBANK favouring exchange facilities.
